If a costume is falsely represented as a specific brand or designer, you'll receive a full refund.

5-Day Inspection Window

When your costume arrives, you have 5 full days to inspect it before the seller receives payment. Here's how it works:

Costume is delivered

The 5-day inspection clock starts when tracking shows delivery.

You inspect the costume

Check that it matches the listing description, photos, and measurements. Try it on for fit.

Approve or dispute

If everything looks great, approve the order and the seller gets paid. If there's an issue, open a dispute before the window closes.

Auto-approval

If the 5-day window passes without a dispute, the order is automatically approved and the seller is paid.

How to File a Dispute

If something isn't right, here's what to do.

Step 1

Document the Issue

Take clear photos showing the problem — the difference from the listing description, damage, or defect.

Step 2

Contact the Seller

Many issues can be resolved directly. Send a message to the seller through SpotlightSwap explaining the problem.

Step 3

Open a Dispute

If you can't reach a resolution, open a dispute from your order page within the 5-day inspection window.

Step 4

Resolution

Our team reviews the evidence from both parties and reaches a fair resolution — typically within 3-5 business days.

What's Not Covered

To be fair to both buyers and sellers, the following are not covered by our guarantee:

  • Buyer's remorse or change of mind after approving the item
  • Disputes opened after the 5-day inspection window has closed
  • Minor wear consistent with the listed condition (e.g., 'Good' condition)
  • Color differences due to monitor/screen calibration
  • Fit issues when the seller provided accurate measurements
  • Items altered by the buyer after receipt
